Tour Itinerary

Day-1: Arrival in Chennai

Arrive at Chennai International Airport, where our representative will greet and transfer you to the hotel. After check-in and freshening up, begin exploring the city’s historical and cultural landmarks. Visit the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, a stunning Dravidian-style structure dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the Santhome Cathedral, built over the tomb of St. Thomas. Drive along Marina Beach, one of India’s longest urban shorelines. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day-2: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram (Approx. 150 km / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Kanchipuram, one of Hinduism’s seven most sacred cities. Visit the Kailasanatha Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple, and Kamakshi Amman Temple. You’ll also witness traditional silk weaving in action at a local weaver’s home. Later, proceed to Mahabalipuram. On arrival, check into the hotel. Evening free to enjoy the beach or local seafood. Overnight in Mahabalipuram.

Day-3: Mahabalipuram Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore the coastal town of Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its 7th–8th century Pallava monuments. Visit the Shore Temple, Pancha Rathas (Five Chariots), and Arjuna’s Penance, one of the world’s largest open-air rock reliefs. Explore local stone sculpture workshops. Optional: Enjoy sunset at the Shore Temple. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.

Day-4: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (Approx. 100 km / 2 hrs)

Drive to Pondicherry, a charming blend of French and Tamil cultures. En route, stop at Auroville, an experimental township devoted to spiritual living and human unity. Visit the Matrimandir, a golden spherical structure used for meditation. Later, explore White Town, home to French colonial architecture, quaint cafés, and boutiques. Visit Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual center established by Sri Aurobindo. In Evening Relax on Promenade Beach or enjoy a French-Tamil fusion dinner. Overnight in Pondicherry.

Day-5: Pondicherry – Chidambaram (Approx. 65 km / 1.5 hrs)

Depart for Chidambaram, one of the holiest towns in Tamil Nadu. On arrival, visit the Nataraja Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva as the Cosmic Dancer. This temple is a spiritual and architectural marvel, where rituals and daily performances of Bharatanatyam continue to this day. Evening free to relax or explore the town’s traditional bronze workshops and local markets. Overnight stay in Chidambaram.

Day-6: Chidambaram – Thanjavur (Approx. 110 km / 3 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Thanjavur, once the capital of the powerful Chola dynasty. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. Later, visit the majestic Brihadeeswarar Temple (Big Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Chola temple architecture. Visit the Thanjavur Palace, home to an art gallery with bronze idols and ancient scripts. Overnight in Thanjavur.

Day-7: Thanjavur – Madurai (Approx. 190 km / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, depart for Madurai, one of South India’s most sacred cities. On arrival, check in and relax. In the evening, witness the ceremonial Aarti at Meenakshi Amman Temple, a spiritual spectacle featuring music, fire lamps, and ancient rituals. The temple’s 14 gopurams are adorned with thousands of colorful sculptures. Overnight in Madurai.

Day-8: Madurai Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore Madurai, a city known for its ancient traditions and literary history. Visit the Meenakshi Temple in detail, followed by Thirumalai Nayak Palace, showcasing Indo-Saracenic architecture. Later, explore Gandhi Memorial Museum, offering insights into India’s freedom struggle, and Koodal Azhagar Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Day-9: Madurai – Trichy (Approx. 140 km / 3 hrs)

Day-10: Trichy – Temple Trail and Culture Walk

Day-11: Trichy – Chennai (by train or flight)

After breakfast, board a train or flight to Chennai. On arrival, check into your hotel for a relaxing final day. Visit Dakshinachitra, a heritage village museum that showcases the arts, crafts, and architecture of South India. Evening Enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional South Indian restaurant with a banana leaf meal. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day-12: Departure from Chennai
