Agra Fort: The heritage site that you can visit while you are in Agra is the Red Fort. The foundation of this monument was laid down by Akbar in the year 1565. The whole structure of the fort was constructed considering the strategic needs. You will see that there are numerous buildings inside the fort which includes Diwan-e-Khas, Moti Masjid and Khas Mahal. The fort is built in the shape of a crescent and it faces the Yamuna River. The famous characteristics of the fort include ramparts that are punctuated by the projections called bastion.

Jal Mahal : The Jal Mahal on a picturesque palace amidst the Man Sagar Lake is Jaipur’s lake palace surrounded with water. It was built for royal duck shooting parties.

Birla Mandir : Its one of modern white marble temple with three domes, inside can see beautiful Lakashmi Naranyan deities blessing position. The zoo has a very depressing atmosphere as badly nourished bird and animals have to survive here in their artificial homes with no sympathy or medical care.

Jama Masjid – An eloquent reminder of Mughal religious fervor, India’s largest mosque was built by Shah Jahan in 1656 at the height of Mughal power. The mosque stands opposite the Red Fort. There is not very much to see within, but the building with its onion-shaped domes is a good example of Mughal architecture. Take off your shoes before entering.

Red Fort – The impressive Red Fort stands along the eastern edge of the walled city (Old Delhi) on the west bank of the River Yamuna. The Red Fort was built as a royal residence by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.

Qutab Minar – The Qutab Minar is a commemorative tower built by Allauddin Khilji in the 13th century. It is five stories high, each story clearly distinguished by a projecting balcony. The buildings around are also worth wandering through.

Humayun’s Tomb – It’s on Mathura Road, was built in the mid 16th century by Haji Begum, wife of the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun. It displays characteristics of the Mughal style with high arches and double domes, and is considered the forerunner of the Taj Mahal.

Raj Ghat – Memorial to Mahatma Gandhi the father of Nation is a place where he was cremated.

Lotus (Bahai) Temple – The Lotus Temple also known as Bahai temple a house of worship completed in 1986. Notable for its Lotus flowerlike shape has become a prominent place of attraction in New Delhi. It remains closed on Monday.

Akbar’s Mausoleum (Skiandra): Situated about 10 km from Agra, in the small town of Sikandra (4 KM from Agra), this mausoleum is a fusion of Muslim Hindu architectural style. It was started by Akbar but completed by his son Jehangir in 1605.

Mathura without Lord Krishna is like Bethlehem without Christ. The city of Mathura is located at a distance of 145 km south-east of Delhi and 58 km north-west of Agra (India). The city has for long attracted Krishna devotees from across the world. Even the casual visitor finds the temples and monuments set in idyllic environs refreshing to core.
